Playfly Sports is a sports media, marketing and technology business that focuses on a consultative, data driven approach.

In partnership with Sport & Story, a group of passionate storytellers, we built subscription platforms that gave fans behind-the-scenes access to the teams they love through first-class technology, premium content, and exclusive membership benefits—not to mention award-winning storytelling that gave fans unprecedented access to the athletes and coaches they love.

As General Manager, I launched their daily email newsletter division, managed day-to-day operations, and built the business across a total of 24 Division I athletic departments, including Arkansas, LSU, Maryland, Penn State, Virginia, USC—reaching a daily audience of 1.6 million readers.

My responsibilities included…

  • Worked alongside 24 athletic departments to lead production of the email newsletter division to an audience of 1.6 million daily subscribers with a cumulative open rate of over 40%.

  • Launched a referral rewards program for select partners, incentivizing readers to refer friends and family to subscribe to an email newsletter for merch, tickets, signed memorabilia, and more—resulting in over 50,000 additional subscribers across all emails.

  • Managed relationships with over 50 advertisers and sponsors—creating mockups for prospects, developing creative, writing copy, and running analytics reports.

  • Recruited, hired, trained, and managed a team of 10 freelance writers and full-time employees to assist in copywriting, marketing, and social media management.
